Purpose of the grant: to fund improvements to the provision of PE and Sport, for the benefit of primary aged pupils so that they develop healthy lifestyles.
At The Victory Primary School we employ a full time Sports Co-ordinator Mrs Kath Unitt. Her role is to:-
* Model good practice and coach staff to improve their teaching of PE
* Coordinate the provision of a wide range of sporting activities both within and outside the school day.
* Identify opportunities for children that will encourage them to engage in sporting activities that they would not have otherwise taken part in.

As a result pupils at The Victory benefit from outstanding PE teaching and a wide range of sporting opportunities. Mrs Unitt will provide a brief
report on a termly basis to explain the impact of the grant on pupils PE and Sport participation

End Of Summer 2016/2017 Term Report
* Newly Qualified Teachers have been given CPD to enhance their delivery of PE through team teaching.
* Rainbow Fish class continuing with their swimming lessons.
* Children have learned new skills from experts and specialists in new sporting activities. For example fencing.
* Children have been identified as gifted and talented and selected to represent the school in city wide competitions.
* Sporting Links forged with Portsmouth Tennis Centre and Premier Sport
* Attainment raised through children competing in various competitions run by Portsmouth Schools Sport Partnership resulting in both boys football teams reaching and winning Portsmouth Schools Football Competitions. Victory A Netball team have qualified for the Portsmouth Netball finals in March.
* Successful bid from the Football Foundation in gaining new football kit for the girls
* 2nd position in the Portsmouth Netball League
* Under 11 boys team third in the Portsmouth Schools League
* Extra curricular activities have included: Boys and Girls Football, Karate, Dance, Fencing, Netball, Gymnastics, Athletics, Cheerleading and Multi-Sports
* Successfully attained the Sainsbuy's Gold Mark in October 2016 for our contribution to sport
* All year 5 have been given additional tennis coaching at Portsmouth Tennis Centre
* The under 11 girls football team won the Portsmouth Cup and represented Portsmouth in the Hampshire County Finals
* Rehearsals for the Junior Dance Off are continuing
* Funding from the Big Lottery achieved for the development and implementation of tennis
* Under 11 Girls winners of the Portsmouth Cup and second in the Portsmouth League.
* Victory Netball team came fourth in the Portsmouth Schools finals
* Year 5 and 6 Athletics team came third overall and the girls second in the Portsmouth Schools Indoor Athletics competition
